Finding The Best Compact Home Gym

December 13, 2019 By Edward

Most people don’t realize that they can actually afford a home gym. You could have a gym in your home for the price of a few months of your gym membership.

You can use this home setup to do the same exercises you would do at the local gym. You don’t need a huge space but there are a few things to keep in mind when trying to find the best compact home gym.

Many people think that a home gym is only for bodybuilding and although you could get huge muscles with it, you can also use it to get toned, to lose weight and to get any type of body you want.

It works just like any other machine in the gym. To build strength, lose weight and tone, you simply do more reps and use less resistance or weights. Having a gym in your home allows you to dial in your fitness any way you want it.

To find the right home gym, you will first need to figure out what your fitness goals are. If you are looking to build muscle, a weight-based gym would be your best bet. If you are looking to tone, burn calories or just increase your stamina and fitness, a resistance-based gym would be best. Either way, you can find home gyms that only take about 10 square feet of space. Some even fold up so you can move it out of the way.

There are some benefits to having your own home gym. No more waiting for someone to get off a machine so you can workout. You won’t have to deal with anyone else’s sweat either.

When you are first starting out on your fitness journey, you may feel self-conscious about other people looking at you. You can do all the same exercises on one piece of equipment without having to leave your home. And you can work out anytime you want.

What Are Your Goals?

It won’t matter if you are just a beginner or experienced at working out. You just have to know what you want from the workout.

Resistance-Based Gyms

If you have any type of physical limitation or you are just starting out, a gym that uses rods, bands and your own body weight is an excellent option. This system is easy on the joints because of the smooth movement. Eventually, the rods and bands could lose their elasticity and will need replaced.

Weight-Based Gyms

These gyms consist of weight stacks or weight plates. You will often see these in a commercial gym. The weights will likely never need to be replaced and they can handle a lot of wear and tear.

Once you get to a certain point in your workout, you may need to buy more weights to add to your workout. When you buy your system, be sure that you check to see if your gym allows for adding more weights to it. Not all do.

Although a home gym can be a little pricey to begin with, if you normally go to the gym, your machine will soon pay for itself from the money you save on your gym membership.

Decide what your fitness goals are and then buy the machine that best suits those needs. If going to the gym has become a hassle or you don’t have a gym in your area, a machine for your home might be your best bet. Use these tips to find the best compact gym to get the results you want.
